Goldwater Institute urges patience in Coyotes vote

The Goldwater Institute, a conservative think tank, is now weighing in on the taxpayer-funded plan to help Greg Jamison buy the Phoenix Coyotes and keep them in the Valley.
Goldwater does not threaten legal action in its statement but is strongly worded, noting the city is considering a deal that will add substantially to the city’s existing financial obligations when it is overloaded with debt and has cut workers and services.
The letter raises questions about the city’s decision to adopt the deal “as an emergency measure, which would deprive Glendale citizens of their right to refer the matter to a vote.
Glendale council will vote on the matter Friday morning around 10:00 a.m.
