Big changes coming for Apple’s iPhone charger

Jul 23, 2012, 4:43 PM | Updated: 4:43 pm

Apple has tweaked the newest iPhone and consumers may end up paying for the company’s imagination.

Details of the upcoming so-called iPhone 5 keep trickling out, but the latest reveal could be the most controversial and costly.

Apple’s dumping the time-tested 30-pin connector on their current charger for a smaller, sleeker 19-pin port.

This means those custom car chargers or bedroom alarm clock docks will no longer fit the newer designs.

The change is part of the phone’s redesign, which sees the earphone move to the bottom.

Assembly of the new smart phone is rumored to be on-going in China and it is scheduled for release later this year.

We want to hear from you.
