Snobs in Arizona call Tempe home

PHOENIX — Scottsdale, take note: The snobbiest midsize city in Arizona is … Tempe.

The real-estate blog Movoto.com pored over all sorts of numbers for its criteria of the top snobby cities in the nation: median household income, percentage of population with a college degree, performing arts per capita, country clubs and private schools, among them.

Midsize generally describes a city with a population between 75,000-300,000.

All that placed Tempe (population 166,842) at No. 27 in the nation. A half-dozen California cities crowded the top 10, with Pasadena looking down on everyone else.

We want to hear from you.
