PHOENIX – Two people were killed and four others, including an infant, were injured Sunday night in a multiple-car accident on a Phoenix street, authorities said.

Three vehicles collided on 67th Avenue near Lower Buckeye Road around 8 p.m., Sgt. Tommy Thompson said in a Monday email.

A vehicle driven by Bianca Aguirre, 18, crossed over the median while driving northbound on 67th Avenue and crashed into a vehicle before spinning and colliding into a second car.

Aquirre died at a local hospital. Cherish Lewis, a 34-year-old woman who was in the first car that Aquirre crashed into, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 32-year-old driver of the 2015 Chevrolet Sonic that Lewis was in and an 11-month-old baby suffered non-life threatening injuries in the crash.

A 17-year-old passenger in Aquirre’s 2001 Lincoln Navigator and a 61-year-old woman in a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe that Aquirre’s car crashed into also suffered non-life threatening injuries.

It was not immediately known whether impairment played a factor in the crash.

No other details were immediately available.

The investigation is ongoing.
