PHOENIX — The body of a 42-year-old man who never resurfaced at a Maricopa County lake over the weekend has been recovered, authorities said.
The Sheriff’s Office said a dive team pulled the drowning victim from Lake Pleasant late Sunday. Friends of the unidentified man said he had gone under Sunday near Humbug Cove and called in around 4:30 p.m.
ABC15 reported a sheriff’s spokesman said the man had fallen off a boat into the water but turned down offers of help climbing back on. He said he’d got for a swim.
