Man in wheelchair killed crossing Tempe street

TEMPS, Ariz. — A wheelchair-bound man was killed in Tempe on Wednesday morning in an accident near Price Road and University Drive.

The man, described as in his 60s, was crossing midblock when the vehicle hit him. The driver pulled over and waited for police.

Police have shut down University from Evergreen Road to Price.

No other details were immediately available.
