Newborn baby beats birthday odds at Scottsdale hospital

SCOTTSDALE — At 6 lbs., 7 ounces, Ava Keel was born after an emergency cesarean section at Scottsdale Healthcare Shea Medical Center. She was delivered ahead of schedule, after doctors discovered the baby was breach and mom was already in labor.

Ava being born on October 14 now shares a special day with other family members. Her father and grandfather now share the same birthdate: October 14.

“She’s going to be really special, don’t have any doubt that all,” said proud Grandfather, Thomas Keel.

The odds of that are about 300,000 to 1.
