This bud’s for you: Medical pot seminar set for Tempe

Oct 5, 2012, 7:59 AM | Updated: 8:00 am

Entrepreneurs can learn how to be a “budtender” and run their own medical marijuana dispensary at a weekend seminar.

A California group, the MedMen, will be hosting seminars at the Tempe Mission Palms Hotel. Two Sunday seminars are sold out, but there are still spots available for Saturday.

The MedMen’s Adam Bierman said attendees will learn several things.

“How to weigh things out, how to dispense medical marijuana in a dispensary setting, how to work with patients and help them assess the best type of medicine that’s going to help with their ailments,” he said.

This is the first group of seminars that Bierman’s company has offered in the Valley, but it has been teaching people elsewhere about the medical-marijuana business.

“We’ve helped a lot of people in California open dispensaries and delivery services,” said Bierman. “We have taught them how to stock dispensaries and do what’s needed to run clean, efficient businesses.”

Interested people can register for the seminar at shop.themedmen.com.
