Nov 22, 2022, 4:05 AM

PHOENIX — ZooLights is returning to the Phoenix Zoo this week and will be debuting some new features.

The annual holiday lights event will unveil what the zoo is billing as the tallest floating tree in North America on Wednesday’s opening night.

The LED-powered digital tree will be displayed on the zoo’s main lake and showcase a light show every 15 minutes.

Also new will be the Polar Park, which will feature s’mores pits, glow swings, photos with Santa, and food and beverage options.

The 31st iteration of the event will again see the zoo transformed into a lights display that includes animal sculptures and musical exhibits. Oh, and don’t forget about the camel rides.

ZooLights will be open nightly from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. through Jan. 15.

Online tickets start at $25 for zoo members and $30 for the general public.

Tickets at the gate are $30 for zoo members and $35 for the public. Children 2 years old and younger get in free.

Entry to ZooLights includes admission to the Dinosaurs in the Desert exhibit.

We want to hear from you.
