PHOENIX – A new poll of likely Republican voters shows governor’s race front-runner Kari Lake is clinging to a narrow lead over Karrin Taylor Robson.

The poll released Wednesday by OH Predictive Insights put Lake in front 23% to Taylor Robson’s 21%. In an April poll from the Phoenix-based firm, the former TV news anchor led Taylor Robson 29%-22%.

Lake questioned the accuracy of the results, telling KTAR News 92.3 FM’s The Mike Broomhead her internal polling has her comfortably leading.

Former U.S. Rep. Matt Salmon also made gains, coming third at 14%, according to the survey, which was taken May 9-16. He jumped up from 11% in the previous poll.

“This race is going to heat up before it cools down,” Mike Noble, chief researcher for OH Predictive Insights, said in a press release.

With the field of three main candidates, 38% of the likely voters remain unsure whom to choose.

“They will be the decisionmakers come Election Day,” Noble said.

Lake and Taylor Robson are also nearly even in voter preference in Arizona’s most populated county, Maricopa.

The Trump-endorsed Lake is the choice of 24% of the poll respondents, while businesswoman Taylor Robson is at 22%.

Rural voters prefer Lake. She has 28%, followed by Salmon at 19% and Taylor Robson at 17%.

The poll has a margin of error of 5.85%.

The primary election is Aug. 2.
