PHOENIX — Chandler police arrested a suspect believed to be connected to the disappearance and death of a woman who was found earlier in November, authorities said Wednesday.

Timothy Sullivan, 61, was wanted in the investigation into the death of Amy “Ruby” Leagans, whose body was found south of the U.S. 60 near Central Avenue by Phoenix police at about 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 17.

Foul play was determined to be a factor in Leagans’ death, police said.

Leagans was reported missing on Oct. 27 after family said they hadn’t heard from her since Oct. 21.

Police said the investigation into Leagans’ disappearance and death revealed “suspicious circumstances.”

The investigation remains active and anyone with information regarding the case is asked to call Chandler police at 480-782-4130 or Silent Witness at 480-938-6377.

We want to hear from you.
