Silver Alert canceled for missing 70-year-old Mesa man

PHOENIX — A Silver Alert was canceled on Friday night after a missing 70-year-old Mesa man was found safely.

Gathen Bernard Evans was last seen at his home near Mesa Drive and McKellips Road Thursday around 7 a.m.

Authorities canceled the alert around 11:50 p.m. later on Friday

Evans suffered from diabetes that requires medication. He did not take his medication with him.

He also has diminished mental capacity from a stroke he suffered.
