Phoenix summit held to discuss international trade

PHOENIX — The Global Interdependence Center, a Philadelphia-based nonprofit organization, hosted the Southwest Economic Summit at the Phoenix Convention Center in downtown Phoenix on Monday.

Top economists from Fortune 500 companies, representatives from the Federal Reserve Bank along with state and local leaders met to discuss international trade.

“Evaluating our situation and how we could do a better job at leveraging ourselves globally,” said Barry Broome, p resident and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council.

The event featured Matt Salmon, chairman of the Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, Manuel Sanchez, vice governor of the Banco de Mexico and Greg Stanton, mayor of the City of Phoenix.
