Mesa libraries hosting Obamacare information sessions

Nov 14, 2013, 5:00 AM | Updated: 5:00 am

PHOENIX — The clock is ticking when it comes to purchasing healthcare under the Affordable Care Act.

For most Arizonans the process might be especially challenging, which is why the city of Mesa is hosting free information sessions.

“I think there is a lot of confusion,” said Sandy Rizzo, a city of Mesa librarian. “Because of the website and so forth, people might be taking a wait-and-see approach to enrollment, but it’s the law and coverage starts in January.”

Mesa libraries will be hosting a series of free seminars where guest speakers from Keogh Health Connections and Empowerment Systems, Inc., will be providing easy-to-understand information on how to use the Healthcare Marketplace and cost assistance if you qualify.

The sessions will be held at the following locations and times:

Main Library, 64 E. First St.
• Nov. 23 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
• Dec. 11 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Red Mountain Library, 635 N. Power Road.
• Nov. 18 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• Nov. 23 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
• Dec. 16 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• Dec. 28 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Mesa Express Library, 2055 S. Power Road.

• Dec. 3 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
• Dec. 5 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
