Glendale hoping for major economic boost from Cardinals’ expected move

With news that the Arizona Cardinals are likely moving their training camp down south from Flagstaff, the city of Glendale is hoping to earn an extra $500,000 annually.
According to Phoenix Business Journal the move could create more than 200 jobs, bring increased traffic to the Westgate Entertainment Center and net the city an economic impact of up to $15 million in the summer.
The Phoenix Business Journal reported that the proposed relocation deal would pay the Cardinals $326,000 a year to reside in Glendale.
As part of the deal, the Cardinals would also agree to build an air-conditioned bubble structure over their facilities to combat the 100-degree temperatures.
