PHOENIX — Authorities in the Phoenix area are investigating allegations of an inappropriate relationship between a Mountain Ridge High School teacher and a student.
The Peoria Police Department said in a statement Wednesday that it was aware of the allegations, but could not release any more information due to the ongoing investigation.
The Deer Valley Unified School District confirmed in a statement that a teacher at the Glendale school was on an “approved leave of absence connected to an ongoing Peoria Police Department investigation.”
No other details were immediately provided.
Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to call police at 623-773-8311.
Another Mountain Ridge teacher was the subject of a police investigation earlier this month.
Vincent Ciliberti Jr., the school’s head football coach, was arrested for allegedly attempting to lure a minor for sex.
Ciliberti allegedly exchanged messages online with an undercover officer posing as a 14-year-old boy and went to a location in Mesa where he thought he was meeting the boy.
He was charged with one count each of luring a minor for sex and attempted sexual conduct with a minor, both class 3 felonies.
