Beer brings in $1 billion for Arizona’s economy

In Arizona, beer has an economic impact of $1.1 billion according to a new report by the National Beer Wholesalers Association.

Phoenix Business Journal reported that Arizona is tied with Missouri at 14th for its economic impact.

In Arizona, beer distributor activities contribute more than $242 million to the federal, state and local tax bases. This does not include an added $218 million in federal, state and local alcohol excise and consumption taxes on beer sold in Arizona.

The report also said beer distributors in the state directly employ 2,881 and impact another 7,284 jobs.
