PHOENIX — An armed man shot and killed during a confrontation with police has been identified.

Moses Baeza, 25, died Saturday near 10th and Van Buren streets after he raised his gun in an officer’s direction and the officer fired.

Several residents had called police to report a man running around the neighborhood shooting a gun.

Two patrol units responded and officers began to try talking with Baeza, who police said ignored their instructions to put down his weapon.

We want to hear from you.
