A $50 million Interstate 17 freeway project is expected to create delays Tuesday night at Cordes Junction.
“From 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. we will be having intermittent 15-minute closures due to construction of a new bridge,” said Arizona Department of Transportation spokesman Dustin Krugel.
The Big Bug Creek Bridge for the I-17 interchange will straighten the freeway and access.
“The current interchange was built in the 1960s and wasn’t built to accommodate the current traffic we’re going to have now and also into the future,” said Krugel.
The project is on track for a spring 2013 finish.
