ADOT: No freeway closures over Labor Day weekend

Aug 29, 2013, 5:00 AM | Updated: 5:00 am

PHOENIX — There are no freeway closures planned over Labor Day weekend, the Arizona Department of Transportation said.

Current work zones will remain in place.

ADOT encouraged drivers to always be aware of the road conditions around them and to be prepared for any unscheduled closures caused by crashes or other incidents.

Drivers are also urged to carry extra supplies, especially water, in case they are delayed for any reason.

Last year, the state saw the highest number of road fatalities since 2008.

ADOT said it expects thousands of Valley drivers to take to the roads over the holiday weekend.

We want to hear from you.
