Pack your bags, kids. We’re going to New York City!

While Disneyland might be a more desired location, members of Mesa Mountain View’s band were likely pretty pumped to hear they were headed to the Big Apple.

According to the East Valley Tribune, the band has accepted an invitation to march in the the “Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.”

“I’m kind of nervous. I just barely got started (with the band) and we’re doing Macy’s,” freshman Tommy Oakes told the Tribune this week.

The band was treated to a surprise visit from a representative back in May, who extended the invitation.

The band will march all of the two-mile route, though can only expect a maximum of 1:30 of nationally-televised screen time.

To fund their trip, the band is hosting car washes and a golf tournament. For more information, go to the band’s Facebook page or booster website.

We want to hear from you.
