Man crossing Glendale street killed in hit-and-run collision

PHOENIX – A man crossing a street in Glendale was killed in a hit-and-run collision early Wednesday, authorities said.
The Glendale Police Department said the unidentified 29-year-old was struck by a vehicle as he walked near Bethany Home Road and 57th Avenue.
Medical personnel pronounced the man dead of his injuries at the scene.
Police said the driver left the site of the collision but made no other information available.
The investigation shut down Bethany Home Road from 55th to 59th avenues for at least two hours.
