PHOENIX — Two people died an another two were taken to the hospital in a five-vehicle crash early Sunday morning, police said.
Around 2:45 a.m., a pickup truck driving west toward the intersection at 91st Ave. and Camelback Road rear-ending a sedan, which in turn rear-ended an SUV, police said.
The truck then “impacted two addition vehicles” at the intersection, Glendale Police spokeswoman Officer Tiffany Smith said.
The drivers of the truck and sedan, both adults, were pronounced dead on scene, Smith said.
Two passengers in the SUV were taken to the hospital. As of 9 a.m. Sunday morning, their status was unknown.
Police are investigating whether speed, impairment or both were factors in the crash.
The intersection will be closed until around noon Sunday, police said.
