PHOENIX — Spas and other businesses will soon join a slew of local restaurants inside Terminal 4 at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

Heather Lissner with Sky Harbor said the decision to add more businesses was based on customer feedback.

“Customers have been requesting local, regional and national products,” she said.

Lissner said the airport is adding two day spa-style businesses, but there’s a caveat: Travelers will have to get through security supplies before they can go get a massage.

AZ Big Media reports the terminal will add a large array of stores, including Roosevelt Row, a showcase of Phoenix artists and a store specializing in cactus candy.

“Passengers will have their choice of nationally-recognized brands and one-of-a-kind local merchandise only found in Arizona,” Chris Madsen, deputy aviation director for business and properties, told the outlet.

While the spas are certainly an attractive feature, Lissner said another frequent request was more technology supply stores.

“Travelers can pick up any last-minute tech items they need — a phone charger, a case, etc.,” she said.

Sky Harbor’s Terminal 4 has received several nods — the latest of which went to Matt’s Big Breakfast — from national publications after it invited more than a dozen local restaurants to open up shop.
