PHOENIX — For all the Cinderellas out there waiting for their fairy godmother, look no further.

The 14th Annual Cinderella Affair aims to make prom night magical for high schoolers around the Valley who otherwise could not afford a dress.

The boutique, located at 411 N. McKemy Ave. in Chandler, Arizona, will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 21, March 28, April 4, April 11, and April 18.

The event is open to all high school juniors and seniors with valid school IDs. Upon their arrival, students will be given a numbered ticket before getting the opportunity to try on five dresses of their choice. After choosing a dress, they will be able to pick out shoes and accessories.

If needed, volunteer seamstresses will be on hand and a dry cleaning voucher may be provided.

The Cinderella Affair was founded in 2002 through the East Valley Women’s League, a non-profit organization that supports underprivileged women and children in the Valley.

Once a weekend event, the Cinderella Affair boutique has grown immensely since its foundation in 2002 and has even been granted a permanent home.

In the 14 years the program has been established, it has given away nearly 8,000 new and gently used prom dresses.

East Valley Women’s League President Kathy Harris said they want to give young women the opportunity to have a special prom night.

“Prom is so special for so many young ladies and we want to do all we can to ensure that it is even more memorable by making sure that every girl who wants a prom dress has one,” Harris said in her press release.

“And, the truth is, this event is as much fun for us as it is for them.”

We want to hear from you.
