Book chain apologizes to Scottsdale man for ejection

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — A Scottsdale man forced to leave a Barnes & Noble
bookstore because he was in the children’s section without any kids has received
an apology from the bookseller.
The Arizona Republic reported a Barnes & Noble Inc.
executive apologized Monday to Omar Amin, 73, for the incident, which
happened a month ago.
Vice-President Mark Bottini said in a statement it is not the company’s policy
to ask customers to leave any section without justification. Bottini said the
company looks forward to welcoming Amin into any of its locations.
Amin said a clerk made him leave after a customer complained about his
presence by the children’s books.
Amin said he still wants an apology from the Scottsdale store and a copy of the
reprimand letter issued to the clerk.
