PHOENIX — In order to prevent any drunk driving-related accidents this New Year’s Eve, Valley Metro will be offering free transportation options on one of the most celebrated nights of the year.
Valley Metro will be providing free rides on buses, the light rail and the ADA Dial-a-Ride service beginning at 7 p.m. on New Year’s Eve as part of its Freeze the Keys campaign, according to its website.
The Phoenix-area transportation company teamed up with Coors Light in a joint effort to offer free rides servicing Phoenix, Tempe, Scottsdale and Mesa.
In addition to the free rides, Valley Metro is extending light rail services and bus services in Tempe until 2 a.m. to accommodate any New Year’s Eve celebrations in the area. All other bus routes will run on a weekday schedule with most service ending around 11 p.m.
