PHOENIX – A new East Valley hospital scheduled to open this summer is holding a job fair for nurses and other health professionals this week.
As construction of Abrazo Mesa Hospital nears completion, recruiters will be at the facility (5750 E. Baseline Road) for a hiring event Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Abrazo Community Health Network’s first East Valley hospital is looking to fill a variety of roles, including registered nurses, lab assistants, radiology techs, emergency doctor techs, surgical techs, computed tomography (CT) techs and ultrasound techs.
“If you want to be part of something special, come to our hiring events … and you may walk away with a job offer,” Abrazo recruiter Vanessa Telford said in a press release.
The 32,500-square-foot “microhospital” will provide emergency and acute services and include a 13-bed emergency department, an operating room and eight inpatient rooms.
The facility is expected to create 50 jobs, including clinical and support staff positions.
“Abrazo Mesa Hospital will appeal to those who are seeking value, quality and convenience in health care. It will offer access to our integrated network of medical services closer to home for residents of the East Valley,” administrative director Christy Matlock said in the release.
Abrazo currently operates five hospitals in the Valley as well as doctor’s offices and urgent care centers.
No specific opening date has been set for the Mesa facility.
Another Abrazo microhospital is under construction in Surprise and is scheduled to open in 2020.
