PHOENIX– Tempe will launch its annual Park After Dark event series Saturday with thematic programming in recognition of Juneteenth.

The community festival, which includes outdoor activities, food and drinks, returns to the community at 6th Street Park in downtown Tempe on every Saturday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. until Sept. 11.

Attendees can purchase takeout from local restaurants surrounding the park, and Pedal Haus Brewery will host a beer and wine garden with drinks available for purchase.

Guests can enjoy live music from various artists throughout the series, and the series will begin this weekend with performances by MC Rozotadi, DJ Panico and others.

“We are proud to launch an event at a time when the community needs shared connections and experiences,” Kate Borders, executive director of the Downtown Tempe Authority, said in a press release Tuesday.

“This event series activates the heart of Tempe by bringing people together, stimulating business for local merchants, and showcasing downtown Tempe as a vibrant and creative destination.”
