PHOENIX – Phoenix travelers will soon be able to fly nonstop on Southwest Airlines to two additional airports, although only one more city.
Southwest revealed details Wednesday about service starting next year at Chicago O’Hare International Airport and Colorado Springs Municipal Airport. Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is on the initial schedules for both.
The airline already flies nonstop between Phoenix and Chicago Midway International Airport.
The Sky Harbor-O’Hare route will begin Feb. 14 and run twice daily, with one-way fares starting at $109.
The Sky Harbor-Colorado Springs service, also twice a day, will launch March 11, with one-way fares starting at $59.
Southwest’s new O’Hare service also includes nonstop connections with Nashville, Baltimore/Washington, Denver and Dallas Love Field.
The airline’s Colorado Springs presence will start with Denver, Las Vegas, Dallas Love Field and Chicago Midway.
“These additional investments in Chicago and Colorado provide even more convenience for our current customers while also making it more convenient for new travelers to choose Southwest as we begin service from their preferred airport,” Andrew Watterson, chief commercial officer and executive vice president, said in a press release.
