PHOENIX — The lineup for the inaugural 2018-2019 Arizona Speaker Series at Comerica Theater in downtown Phoenix has been set.

The Arizona Speaker Series features speeches from seven accomplished guests ranging from 50-55 minutes, followed by a 30-minute question and answer period.

Gary Lauer, co-founder of The Arizona Speaker Series, has run similar events in Salt Lake City.

“We want people who are scientists, technologists, innovators, world leaders, explorers, people who for the most part are well-known, but have a really interesting story to tell based on what they have accomplished in their lives,” Lauer said.

Former Vice President Joe Biden, James Comey, Condoleezza Rice, Captain Scott Kelly, and Paul Nicklen are also scheduled to speak in the series.

The series begins on Nov. 14, 2018 with Dr. Sanjay Gupta and ends on March 25, 2019 with Dr. Jane Goodall.

A full schedule can be found here:

• Dr. Sanjay Gupta – Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018

• Vice President Joe Biden – Friday, Nov. 30, 2018

• James Comey – Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019

• Condoleezza Rice – Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019

• Capt. Scott Kelly – Thursday, Feb 14, 2019

• Paul Nicklen – Thursday, March 7, 2019

• Dr. Jane Goodall – Monday, Mar. 25, 2019

All seven events begin at 7:30 p.m. and end at 9:00 p.m. The Comerica Theater is located at the corner of Washington Street and Fourth Avenue.

Tickets are sold by subscription and not for individual events. Those who purchase tickets become members with the ability to make critiques and suggestions on the speakers and who future speakers should be.
