PHOENIX — President Donald Trump has nominated Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Susan Brnovich as a U.S. District Court judge.

Brnovich is the wife of Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich.

She has served as a state-level judge since 2009 overseeing criminal, civil and family court cases.

Prior to serving as a Superior Court judge, Brnovich was a court commissioner for five years and was a county prosecutor for eight years.

She earned her undergraduate and law degrees at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Trump also nominated Dominic Lanza, the chief and executive assistant U.S. attorney at the state’s district office, as a U.S. District Court judge. Lanza has also served as a law clerk to Judge Pamela A. Rymer at the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.

The nominations will require Senate approval.
