Silver Alert issued for missing Sun City West man

Jun 6, 2015, 4:27 PM | Updated: 4:27 pm

PHOENIX — The Arizona Department of Public Safety issued a Silver Alert on Saturday afternoon for a Sun City West man who went missing in the morning.

Frank Treadway Jr., 79, was reported missing by his wife prior to 10 a.m. He was last heard from around 8 a.m. when he went downstairs to the lobby area of his senior living center near Countryside Drive and RH Johnson Boulevard.

Treadway did not have a cellphone with him, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office said, and his red 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche was not seen in the parking lot.

Treadway’s family members said he suffers for Alzheimer’s and dementia. He was reportedly not supposed to drive, and has not done so in the last couple of months. The MCSO said it was told Treadway has been known to become disoriented and struggle with finding his way to or from routine locations.

The missing man is about 5-foot-5 and 250 pounds with gray, balding hair and brown eyes, the MCSO said. He was last seen wearing reading glasses, green shorts and a cream- and green-colored shirt with clear stone decorations.

If you see the missing man or have any information on his location, please call the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office at 602-876-1011.

We want to hear from you.
