Fatal hit-and-run in Phoenix early Sunday morning

Jul 5, 2015, 10:21 AM | Updated: 10:26 am

Early Sunday morning the Phoenix Police Department was called to 51st Ave. and Maryvale Parkway for a car and pedestrian collision.

Upon their arrival the Phoenix PD found 57-year-old William Earl Barnes lying in the roadway. Phoenix Fire would arrive and pronounce Barnes deceased at the scene.

The investigation shows the crossing of 51st Ave. near the intersection was where the collision may have took place.

The evidence indicates the vehicle may have been a 2005-2010 Chrysler 300. The vehicle could have possibly sustained lower front end damage and would have a missing plastic wheel well.

Phoenix PD are asking for anyone who may have been in the area at the time to provide information for the investigation.

Information can be provided at either Crime Stop (602) 262-6151 or Silent Witness (480) W-I-T-N-E-S-S. As always, any caller may remain anonymous.

We want to hear from you.
