Arizona home dubbed world’s tallest family house heading to auction block

PHOENIX — If you were hoping to pick up an Arizona home that’s been dubbed the world’s tallest family house at a discount price, have we got news for you.
A listing on the Concierge Auctions website said the home near Prescott, nicknamed the Falcon’s Nest, will hit the auction block on May 25.
The home was placed back on the market for $1.5 million in March. Concierge Auctions said the home will sell for no less than $750,000, which is half-off the original price tag.
The three-bedroom, four-bathroom home was built on Thumb Butte in 1994 and hovers 124 feet above slightly more than an acre of land. It boasts 6,200 square feet of living space in its 10 stories.
Numerous Arizona mountains, such as Humphrey’s Peak and Four Peaks, are visible out of the home’s many windows.
A hydraulic elevator takes occupants and visitors from floor to floor.
The home’s primary living space is the 2,000-square-foot solarium. That floor has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen and a great room.
The Falcon’s Nest uses passive solar technologies and other alternative power, heating and cooling solutions to minimize its environmental impact.
The home can be repurposed as an educational facility — the listing even suggests pairing with nearby Yavapai Community or Prescott colleges — a ranger station, a bed and breakfast, an office building or an event venue.
The listing shows the home was put up for sale in 2015 for $2.8 million, but never sold. It was pulled off the market in February and relisted by a different real estate firm.
