Father in duct tape photo case pleads not guilty

Jan 26, 2012, 7:18 PM

CHICAGO (AP) – A Chicago man who bound his young daughter with tape and posted the photo on Facebook has pleaded not guilty to aggravated domestic battery and unlawful restraint.

A spokesman for the Cook County state’s attorney’s office says 21-year-old Andre Curry entered his plea during a brief hearing Thursday morning. Curry remains in custody and is scheduled to return to court Friday for a hearing on his attorney’s motion to reduce his $100,000 bond.

Curry’s attorney has said his client was just trying to be funny with the photograph and that he didn’t harm his 22-month-old daughter. The child’s mother also tells WMAQ-TV that Curry was just joking and adds that he’s a great father.
