PHOENIX — Downtown Phoenix Ambassadors say they’re ready for the thousands upon thousands of people who will come to Super Bowl Central beginning Jan. 28.

Terry Madeksza, vice president of Downtown Phoenix Inc., which runs the Ambassador program, said the Ambassadors are available as a resource for any number of inquiries or problems.

“I think the Ambassadors really are the go-to people for anybody coming to downtown Phoenix during this time,” she said. “They are there for information, recommendations, directions, parking information, walking people to their lost vehicles, connecting lost children, or perhaps lost parents.”

The roughly 30 downtown Phoenix Ambassadors dressed in bright-orange polos have been getting ready for about a year to make sure they’re ready to handle any questions or concerns visitors might have, according to Ambassador Guy Engard, especially when it comes to what will be a scarce resource: parking.

“We’re going to (have) the most updated information as far as parking is concerned, what garages are going to be open and then as soon as they start to clear out, when people can start parking in those garages again,” he said.

Engard said the Ambassadors are a great resource to visitors, tourists and locals in downtown Phoenix, and they can help people make sure they get the most out of their time inside and outside Super Bowl Central.
