Girl run over by vehicle, pronounced dead at hospital

PHOENIX — A tragic accident outside a Flagstaff home killed a 10-year-old girl late Saturday night.
According to witnesses who spoke with the Flagstaff police department, the driver of a vehicle described to be a 2001 Chevrolet Suburban pulled out slowly from a residence on 5250 N. Hwy 89 unaware that the girl was running behind it.
Reportedly, the girl appeared to slip under the vehicle before being run over by the driver, identified as a family member.
The girl was transported to Flagstaff Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
At this time, the FPD’s accident reconstruction team is at the scene to investigate further.
