PHOENIX — Several Gilbert schools were placed on cautionary lockdown Wednesday after a suicidal suspect was reported to police.

The suspect had made threats earlier in the day and was in the area of several schools, but police do not believe that person is on a school campus.

During a cautionary lockdown, schools run normally but students are not allowed to leave campus.

The lockdown was lifted about 1:15 p.m.

Police later located the suspect and said no charges are forthcoming.
