YUMA, Ariz. – Federal authorities say they’ve seized almost 250 pounds of
marijuana in the Yuma area.

U.S. Border Patrol agents from Yuma Sector’s Wellton Station seized about 246
pounds of marijuana Wednesday morning from a suspect who was wanted on two
arrest warrants.

Agents noticed the driver of a vehicle on Dome Valley Highway behaving
suspiciously and initiated a vehicle stop for further investigation.

After discovering active warrants for his arrest, agents placed the suspect in
custody and searched the vehicle. They say the marijuana was found concealed in
the vehicle’s trunk.

Authorities say the narcotics are worth an estimated $123,000.

The unidentified suspect was turned over to Immigration and Customs
Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
