The Think Tank continues its series on the race for governor of Arizona.
This week’s guest is former congressman Matt Salmon.
Candidate Kari Lake had committed to join the show, but sent in a last-minute decline citing “scheduling conflicts.”
Candidate Karrin Taylor Robson was interviewed last month; Kari Lake has been extended an invitation to join a future show.
As a result of this last-minute cancellation, we invited former Arizona Attorney General Terry Goddard, who is also a former Democratic nominee for governor, to join the second half of the show.
Topics covered with candidate Salmon included immigration, gun policy, education funding and abortion. (Though we led with a question about the winner of the 2020 election, since there has been some discussion of that in Republican circles).
We took the opportunity with Terry Goddard to discuss some of the important, and potentially more-significant, issues that have NOT come up during the campaign, notably the state’s impending water crisis. As a former gubernatorial candidate himself, his observations are interesting and worth noting.
The Think Tank airs on KTAR 92.3 FM on Saturday 6-7 p.m. and Sunday 9-10 p.m.
Podcasts are available after broadcast. Older shows are archived at www.mikeoneil.org.
