PHOENIX – West Valley commuters should expect traffic delays Thursday afternoon and night because of an international soccer match at State Farm Stadium.

The friendly between Mexico and Uruguay is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. Stadium parking lots open for tailgaters at 1:30 p.m., and doors to the venue open at 5 p.m.

Traffic is expected to be heavier than usual during evening rush hour on Interstate 10 and the Loop 101 Agua Fria Freeway in west Phoenix and Glendale.

Motorists should also expect Loop 101 ramp closures near the stadium before and after the game, the Arizona Department of Transportation said.
