Heavy snow and rain expected to hit northern Arizona this week

PHOENIX — Winter storms in northern Arizona are ramping up and don’t appear to be slowing down.

Arizona Snowbowl ski resort said it has received 14 inches of snow since Saturday and is expected to have an additional 10-24 inches.

Sunrise Park Resort in Greer, reportedly received over five inches of snow over the weekend.

The National Weather Service in Flagstaff expects a combination of rain and snow with snow levels close to 6,500 feet.

The Weather Service issued a flood warning on Monday due to high water levels in creeks, rivers and streams.

Tuesday night is expected to have heavy rainfall significant snow accumulation is possible above 6,000 feet.

Forecasters said Flagstaff temperatures would drop to 28 degrees on Wednesday with a low of nine degrees into Wednesday night.

Snow is expected from Monday through Wednesday night with three-to-seven inches of snowfall on Tuesday night, according to the Weather Service.
