Wife in San Tan Valley shot, injured by husband in domestic incident

PHOENIX — A woman in San Tan Valley was transported to a local hospital after her husband shot her in the leg in what appeared to be a domestic incident on Monday, police said.
According to Navideh Forghani, a spokesperson for the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office, the woman was shot in the leg by her husband after they got into an argument at their home near San Tan Heights and Village Lane.
The husband then left the home and shot himself in the head, Forghani said.
The wife was transported to a local hospital and is expected to survive her injuries, Forghani said. The husband was also transported to a local hospital but suffered serious life-threatening injuries.
Police could not provide the identities of the couple. The investigation is ongoing.
