CEDAR CITY, Utah (AP) – A charter bus driver has been charged with drug possession after police say he had drugs in his system when he showed up to take a group of recent southern Utah high school graduates to Disneyland.
Brandon Gillman faces two felony counts for possession of cocaine and the painkiller Endocet, and a misdemeanor count for possession of the sleeping pill Zolpidem. The 30-year-old also faces misdemeanors for possessing drug paraphernalia and driving under the influence.
Students from Canyon View High School were about to board a bus after graduation May 24 when a police dog alerted officers to Gillman’s backpack.
Police say Gillman failed sobriety tests and was arrested. He did not have a telephone listing or a lawyer.
Calls to bus company Utah Trailways weren’t immediately returned Thursday.
