YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) – Police say three people have been shot and wounded in a vehicle near Eastern Michigan University during an apparent attempted narcotics sale.
Ypsilanti police Sgt. Troy Fulton says the gunman remained at large early Saturday following the shootings Friday night. He says the three victims _ two 18-year-olds and a 20-year-old _ were expected to survive. Two were hospitalized in stable condition. The condition of the other victim wasn’t disclosed.
Fulton says the altercation was sparked by a discrepancy over the price of pills in the attempted drug sale. He says the suspect pulled out a gun, and a driver lunged to try to grab it when the man started shooting. He fled before police arrived.
University spokesman Geoff Larcom says nobody involved is a student at Eastern Michigan.
