Gilbert child claims she was nearly kidnapped

PHOENIX — A Gilbert child was nearly kidnapped Thursday in her apartment complex, police said.

The 12-year-old girl told police she was walking through her apartment complex at 2200 W. San Angelo on the way to her bus stop when a man in all black in a ski mask attempted to grab her.

The girl said she ran away.

There are not witnesses or suspects in the case and police are investigating.
