Valley Metro sets record for ridership in one month

Nov 19, 2012, 6:10 PM | Updated: 6:10 pm

Over seven million riders boarded the Valley Metro system in October, setting a new record.

In total, 7,080,564 boardings were recorded in October, up 10 percent than the same month in 2011. Valley Metro said the increase was aided by the Oregon-Arizona State University football game, when 65,000 boarding were recorded.

The old record was set in April 2009, when 6,649,206 boardings were recorded.
