Phoenix Open streaker launches GoFundMe to pay for legal fines

PHOENIX — First, he streaked. Now he has to pay the price.
The man who pleaded guilty to streaking across the green at the Waste Management Phoenix Open last week now needs to pay up some green of his own — but he’s looking for your help.
Adam Stalmach, the 24-year-old Goodyear resident who became instantly infamous when he ran across the 17th hole wearing nothing but socks, was ordered to pay $1,500 in fines after pleading guilty to one count of indecent exposure. He also spent five days in jail as a result of his guilty plea.
In order to help pay for those fines, Stalmach has launched a GoFundMe page.

“I attended the TPC Golf Tournament January 31st with no intentions of ending up in jail. After one too many drinks I decided to go streaking on the 17th hole,” the description on the page read.
“My last words before running out were ‘I just wanna give the crowd something to cheer about.’ This fund will go towards all fines I have to pay. Anything is appreciated! Thank-you for your continued support!”
Embracing his new title, Stalmach signed the page “Waste Managament (sic) Streaker.” As of Tuesday night, he has raised $155 from 11 donors.
A separate campaign was closed early Tuesday morning after Stalmach had raised $254. It was unclear if the site shut down the campaign or he ended it voluntarily.
Baring it all
Stalmach caught the attention of thousands of golf fans at TPC Scottsdale who thought they were going to see their favorite celebrities take a swing on the green — and instead saw a whole lot more.
During Wednesday’s Pro-Am event, Stalmach stripped down and proceeded to bare it all to the shock — and applause — of the spectators on hole No. 17.
But he did more than just run: Stalmach also showed off some dance moves, played in the sand and even pretended to hit at the green for several minutes.
Eventually, course security caught up to Stalmach before later turning him over to Scottsdale police.
According to Sgt. Ben Hoster with the Scottsdale Police Department, he also showed “signs and symptoms of alcohol intoxication.”
