PHOENIX – Carefree is the place — and way — to be this weekend for lovers of wine, art and perfect weather.

More than 160 artists will display and sell their work Friday-Sunday at the 26th Annual Fall Carefree Fine Art & Wine Festival.

High temperatures of around 80 degrees are in the forecast throughout the weekend.

One of several recurring metro Phoenix events produced by Thunderbird Artists, the festival will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day at Ho Hum Drive and Easy Street in the town’s downtown area.

Admission is $3, and parking is free. Patrons can pick up a souvenir wine glass with six tasting tickets for $10.

The festival will also feature microbrew tasting, live music and more.

More than 5,000 original pieces of art spanning a wide range of mediums, styles, sizes, subject matters and price will be available.

The work will include sculptures, pottery, photography, handcrafted jewelry and paintings.

This year’s featured artist is Jane Boggs, who creates elaborate sculptures out of gourds.
